The American Way

Ron Paul has provided an update to his supporters via YouTube. He is suggesting that everyone get together to march on Washington D.C. It sounds as if he is trying the Hail Mary pass at the end of the football game - the march is supposed to get attention just before the GOP convention although I think we all know McCain is the candidate.

I guess I have to admit Doc has a lot of guts, trying to organize a march on his behalf when he has to know he won't get the nomination.

He said on his broadcast that the Republican party has drifted from its conservative roots, and he hopes to correct that.

He also says we need to bring our troops home to guard our borders.

I suppose he is an isolationist and a nationalist of the most narrow-minded sort. Sure, we should not be "empire-building." I agree with him there. But we can't put our heads in the ground and pretend nothing is happening in our environment.

Doc's voting record indicates he is not in favor of energy independence. He has no real appreciation for management of resources and sustainable development. That is nothing new to the Republican party.

He seems to be hostile to immigrants, but that is not new to the Republican party. I certainly hope no one of Latin descent is voting Republican.

So how does he expect to be a part of some sort of change as the leader of the Republican party?

The Republican party does not offer anything more than continued death, destruction, and debt.

Go Hillary!

Careful dragonfly. You talk about Doc too much and you'll have those mental patients taking over your comments section, like they did with my beloved cotton.

I'm not crazy about Elvis, horses or Jesus, but I love Tom Petty. He's a good southern boy who still knows how to play rock and roll.

Mike Campbell is my daddy!!!

Maybe if I just refer to him with nicknames, such as Doc or Chupacabra, they won't catch on.

Do you play all card games or do you just like poker?

So, Pocketjokers, you are Mike Campbell's love child? Can you play guitar like Mike? That would be hot!

Those Florida boys can rock n roll.

Didn't Newt Gingrich recently write a book called "Contract with The Environment" or some such bullshit? I didn't look through it after considering the source.

Uh oh, pocketjokers. Oh well, my plan is foiled.

Ron Paul Cheerleader, I am all in favor of free speech, so blog on.

Note I am a Hillary supporter. She is a bright woman with a sound financial base and clearly defined plans as a part of her platform.

We don't need another demagogue.
Hillary, by her very Scorpio nature, is into details. Her populist manifesto she is distributing to voters in Wisconsin, Texas and Pennsylvania ought to get positive attention.

And what sort of intelligent, detailed plan does Paul have to make a difference? All he wants to do is tear down others.

Cheerleader, will you be marching on DC? Your cheerleading skills ought to be very helpful to your "savior".

Hillary? Sound financial base? Freezing teaser interest rates for at least 5 years?

That's the most asinie solution to the subprime-originated credit mess.

every person has his el chupacabras to deal with. For some, their elchupacabras is shyness, for others, it is a lack of education. For us, it is a big ugly doctor, who wants to enslave us, deport us to mexico and crucify us on a cross of gold.

el guapo -- who is "us"?

Anonymous said...

"Us" is the illegal immigrants from santo poco. We pick your lettuce, cut your grass, wash your dishes and now you want us to mine for gold. You can find us in the Wal-mart parking lot, where Hillary used to sit on the board. We will vote for Hillary because she will make the peso legal US currency, so we can buy more things from her Arkansas low-price overlords.

Si se puede!

Good luck getting a ballot, el guapo.

Sure, Bernanke, you don't like Hillary's idea because your real loyalty is to the Banks and Corporations. You are not truly an objective economic guru. No such thing as objectivity anyway, even for ISTJ personalities. Everyone is result-oriented and skews facts towards the desired result. I like Hillary's results. People who criticize process usually don't have anything valuable to say about solutions.

El Guapo - you are posing. Everyone knows Chupacabra is La Chupacabra. Not el. Ron Paul Cheerleader, Guapo can get a ballot no problem. He can't speak Spanish.

Pocketjokers, save the blog if you can. Let's talk music and love children.

My loyalty is absolutely to the banks (not so much the borrowers though).

Please tell us the good result Hillary's freeze-the-teaser-rate plan would generate. Freezing temporary rates so far below the market rates that the bondholders (not the lenders) have on the same loan results in the following:

1. The over-extended borrower stays in the home (probably for the full five years b/c they're too retarded to sell or refinance). Good for him/her.

2. The investors who purchased the RMBSs (collateralized by the mortgage that would have yielded 15% but is stuck at 2.9% because of Hillary) lose money. This these investors are Gordon Gecko and George Bush? Wrong. They're pensions for teachers and bus drivers.

3. Now that everyone and their grandma in the RMBS market knows that they won't (thanks to Hillary's freeze) get the terms they agreed-to on the RMBSs, demand for mortgage paper dries up. Yes! Stick it to the banks, right?

4. Wrong. The originators who sold the loans to the SPV (which used the loan to collateralize the RMBSs) can't originate anymore RMBSs. Without new RMBSs (or the same volume of RMBSs), lending (to home buyers and all sorts of other borrowers) dries up. (Let me know if you need me to explain fractional reserve banking.) No more investment by borrowers = fewer jobs.

Still want to freeze those rates?

I'd rather have 4 more years of death, destruction and debt than higher taxes.

I am also well trained in Rook, but only in a certain variant of the game. It is kind of a hybrid of Kentucky Discard and 1-High from what I have read. Either way, you can't discard game. It's much more challenging.

I can't play the guitar and probably could not get my daddy to teach me after that last incident at the Verizon Wireless Center. There's probably an order of protection floating around somewhere in Shelby County.
